Primary Podiatric Medical Residency (PPMR), 1996-1997

One full year was spent as a rotating intern on Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, Behavioral Medicine, Neurology, Dermatology, Pathology, Anesthesiology, and Podiatric Medicine & Surgery. While on these rotations, I was given patient responsibility and functioned as a regular medical intern that was directly responsible to a medical or surgical resident and attending physician at all times. The Gundersen Lutheran program has been established well over 20 years and has residency programs in Podiatric Medicine & Surgery, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and Transitional Medicine.

Podiatric Surgical Residency-24 (PSR-24); 1997-1999

Two additional years of training were spent focusing on Podiatric Surgery both as resident and chief surgical resident. All types of foot and ankle surgery were taught and performed. Participation and instruction in additional rotations such as Pediatric Orthopedics, Emergency Medicine, Vascular Surgery, Infectious Disease, Radiology, Rheumatology, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Sports Medicine, Endocrinology, and Internal Medicine were also performed. While on those rotations, I was given patient and intern responsibility, and was directly responsible to a medical or surgical attending physician.
  
Postgraduate Training: Seminars, lectures, and courses covering subjects such as foot and ankle surgery, general medicine, diabetes mellitus, peripheral vascular disease, infection management, surgical complications, biomechanics, podopediatrics, emergency medicine, ambulatory medicine, orthopedics, trauma, dermatology, rheumatology, radiology, medical ethics, and medical-legal situations are being attended on an ongoing basis.
